Candidate Moves: Summer 2024

Here is a summary of some of the key executive moves within the software, games and internet industries over recent months:

 

Software 

GitLab appoints Sabrina Farmer as Chief Technology Officer. Farmer is a former VP of Engineering at Google.

Robin AI, a British legal AI software company, appoints Scott Casey as its CFO. Casey is a former financial executive at Tumblr and Zynga.

Octopus Energy appoints Amir Orad as CEO of its subsidiary Kraken Technologies, a utility software company in the UK. Orad used to be CEO & Chairman of Sisense.

Infogrid, a British startup providing energy usage analytics for real estate construction, appoints CEO Kate Henningsen. Henningsen is the former COO of energy data provider Arcadia.

British software company IRIS appoints Neel Lee Chauhan as Chief Product Officer. Chauhan is a former GM & VP Product Management Credit and Retail Processing at Fiserv.

Edward Auriemma becomes new CEO of Körber Supply Chain Software. Auriemma is the former EVP and Chief Operating Officer of Blue Yonder.

London Stock Exchange Group plc (LSEG) appoints Pascal Boillat as COO. Boillat was Group Executive, Enterprise Services & Chief Information Officer at Commonwealth Bank of Australia most recently.

Swedish financing platform provider Gilion (Formerly Ark Kapital) welcomes Oscar Werner as its new CEO. Werner is a former CEO of Sinch.

UiPath appoints Raghu Malpani as Chief Technology Officer. Malpani is Corporate Vice President, M365 App & Data Platform at Microsoft.

John Dillon is appointed as Managing Director, Product & Marketing at Montagu PE backed IoT software and services provider Wireless Logic. Dillon is a former Chief Product & Marketing Officer at Matrix42 and Chief Marketing Officer at Exact.

Amsterdam-based SaaS cloud banking platform provider Mambu appoints Mark Geneste as Chief Revenue Officer. Geneste has held senior commercial leadership roles at FactSet and Dun & Bradstreet.

Sennder, a digital freight forwarder based in Berlin, appoints Kollen Glynn as CTO and David Vismans at Chief Product Officer respectively. Glynn is a former VP Software Engineering at C.H. Robinson and Vismans served as Chief Product Officer at Booking.com in the past.

British-based cyber security company Darktrace appoints Jill Popelka as COO. Popelka held the role of SAP SuccessFactors President until 2022 and Head of AR Enterprise Services at Snap Inc. most recently.

London-based energy software company Kaluza hires appoints Melissa Gander at CEO. Gander has been COO since 2021. Prior to that, Gander was Group COO of OVO Energy.

TrueLayer appoints Lisa Scott as its first Chief Strategy Officer. Scott served as CEO Europe at Banked before joining TrueLayer.

Open-access AI model builder Stability AI appoints Prem Akkaraju as its new CEO. Akkaraju was CEO of Weta Digital before the role.

London-based carbon data provider Sylvera appoints former Google and Dropbox executive Adrienne Gormley as COO.

Cloud security platform provider Wiz appoints Dali Rajic to President & COO. Rajic is the former COO of Zscaler.

Pleo, a company providing business expenses management solution, hires Soren Westh Lonning as CFO. Lonning has previously held CFO roles with companies including Chr Hansen, WS Audiology, and Danish Endurance.

Traydstream, a software company for trade finance, hires Stephan Hufnagl as new CTO. Hufnagl is a former Director of Technical Specialist at Microsoft.

 

Games and Gambling

Unity appoints Matthew Bromberg as new President and CEO. Bromberg was previously COO of mobile games company Zynga.

Sports betting group Entain announces the appointment of Gavin Isaacs as CEO. Isaacs has previously held executive roles in companies including DraftKings, Scientific Games, and Bally Technologies.

Slot machine and casino game manufacturer Aristocrat promoted Matthew Primmer to Chief Product Officer from EVP Global Products & Insights.

Jacob Krüger is appointed as CMO of Danish mobile games company Tactile Games. Kruger has held senior marketing leadership roles within mobile games companies such as Miniclip, Social Point and FunPlus. 

Supercell-backed mobile games company Trailmix, best known for the game Love and Pies, has promoted Yoojin Jung to CMO from Marketing Director.

Netflix hires Alain Tascan as its President of Games. Tascan is the former EVP Game Development at Epic Games.

Hasbro appoints John Hight as President of Wizards of the Coast. Hight is a former GM of Warcraft Franchise at Blizzard Entertainment. Holly Barbacovi also joins Hasbro as Chief People Officer from Bungie where she served as COO.

Roblox appoints Jerret West as its new CMO and Head of Market Expansion. West is a former CMO at Xbox.

Efim Voinov becomes CEO of ZeptoLab, known for the Cut the Rope series. Voinov is a co-Founder of the company and takes over from Max Petrov as CEO.

Forge of Empires’ maker Innogames promoted Sebastian Goldt to CMO from Director of Growth.

Netmarble promotes Byung Gyu Kim to co-CEO from Vice President. Kim joined Netmarble in 2015 and has been in charge of strategic planning, legal, etc.

French mobile game developer Homa Games, appoints Dan Adair as VP & GM of Hybridcasual. Adair is a former GM of Scopely.

Scopely appoints Mike Seavers as SVP of Technology. Seavers is the former CTO of Yuga Labs.

Ex-My.Games Vladimir Markov joins Top App Games, a maker of Dragons World, as its new CEO.

 

Internet

French music streaming platform Deezer appoints Stu Berg as interim CEO. Bergen used to be CEO of Warner Bros. Records.

Vimeo, an American video hosting platform, appoints Philip Moyer as CEO. Moyer served as Global VP of Applied AI Engineering and Business Development and VP of Strategic Industries at Google Cloud most recently.

Mustafa Suleyman is hired as CEO of Microsoft AI. Suleyman is the co-Founder of DeepMind and Inflection AI.

Trustpilot has made two leadership appointments. Brian Green joins Trustpilot from Adobe as Chief Revenue Officer. Carolyn Ryan is appointed as Chief Strategy Officer. Ryan is an ex-McKinsey and has held several senior roles in Stack Overflow, Nike and eBay.

Former Depop CEO Maria Raga joined early-stage venture capital Creandum as a Venture Partner.

Ocado, a British online grocer, appoints Gavin Patterson as Non Executive Director. Patterson has held various senior roles including Group Chief Executive Officer of BT.

Payments technology company GoCardless appoints Jolawn Victor as its Chief Growth Officer. Victor is the former VP and GM of Intuit UK.

Geneva-based banking platform provider Temenos appoints Jean-Pierre Brulard as its new CEO. Brulard is a former Executive Vice President Worldwide Sales at VMware.

London-based car marketplace Motorway hires Naomi Walkland as CMO. Walkland is a former VP, EMEA & APAC Marketing at Bumble.

Financial operations software company BlackLine appoints Jeremy Ung as new CTO. Ung is a former CTO of Apptio.

Paris-based fintech Sopra Banking Software appoints Andrew Steadman as Chief Product Officer. Steadman is the former Senior Product Director of Temenos.
